History

All-Stars Sports is operated by the First Baptist Church of Channahon. The church has a desire to share Jesus Christ with the  Channahon community and the surrounding communities. We believe we have been called by God to share the gospel and to use many different methods to do that. Sports is one of the ministries God has called the church to. 

The ministry began in the spring of 2004. Little league soccer had been pretty successful and thoughts began to turn to starting a baseball program. The baseball efforts failed in 2004, but God persisted in moving leadership to start a baseball program. With the spring of 2005 coming, a name had to be developed to promote the new league. The name came from the idea that all baseball players want to be considerd an all-star. Thus, All-Stars Baseball was born.

In the fall of 2007 the church started 1st & Ten Flag Football. Discussion about the name prompted a suggestion to call it All-Stars Flag Football. Thus, the ideas for All-Stars Sports began to fall into place.

Present
While we don't have a long history at this point, we continue to press forward with plans to offer new sports. Presently we are offering All-Stars Baseball in the summer and All-Stars Football in the spring and fall. Details for each program are contained within this web site.

Future
Future plans are to add additional sports as well as open times in our facilities. Future organized sports include All-Stars Basketball and All-Stars Volleyball and a return to All-Stars Soccer. Other programs may be developed and offered as facilities and demand allow.

In addition All-Stars Sports is going to be expanded to offer programs to adults as well. In the future we plan to offer adults the opportunity to play flag football, softball and basketball to name a few of the future sports planned.

Through it all though, we will remain focused on our calling to spread the gospel. You can always plan to hear a devotion time (that is required to play) prior to each game.
