All-Stars Sports is sponsored by the First Baptist Church of Channahon. The church is in a new building program that will eventually allow us to offer basketball and other indoor sports.
2010 is the "Year of Commitment" for First Baptist Channahon. The messages from the pulpit are challenging us to get committed to the work God has called us to. This means, more servants, more leaders and more sacrificial giving.
One of the banks we've talked to about our final mortgage has expressed that 200 people giving $20 per week would provide enough money to pretty much cover our mortgage payment. But, ministry work must go on in addition to the need to pay for the facilities. So, we're looking for a total of 400 giving partners who will commit to giving $20 per week. Our goal is to add 100 new "units" each quarter in 2010.
Commitments thru April 11, 2010

So, what is a giving "unit"? A giving unit is any individual, or combination of individuals who are willing to commit to giving $20 per week, for a minimum of 1 year. You can sign up and purchase as many giving units as you like. For example, if God told you to give $100 per week, that would represent 5 giving units.
The beauty of this program is that everyone can participate. If, you can't give $20 per week, would you be willing to find others who would commit to giving to help make a giving unit? For example, if you can only afford $10 per week, would you also find someone else to give $10 per week, or two friends to give $5 per week? For each $20 commitment, 1 giving unit is reached.
Would you prayerfully consider how God would have you give and follow His lead?
